A charity Event for our ‘’Little Heroes

The “Nicosia” Volunteer Network and the Cavo Zoe Seaside Hotel joined forces for the “Little Heroes”, children battling cancer.

The “Nicosia” Volunteer Network, during all these years of its presence and activity, demonstrates in practice its sensitivity in offering to fellow human beings, with special emphasis on the arts and culture. This year, in the wider context of his actions, he dedicated all his events to the “Little Heroes”, the initiative of Mr. Loukas Fourlas, which aims to help children battling cancer.

Thus, as an assistant in the effort of the “Little Heroes”, the Volunteer Network, in collaboration with the Cavo Zoe Seaside Hotel, organized on Thursday, August 19, a concert charity evening, in the open air of the hotel, with the amazing singer Fotini Darra and the great orchestrator and pianist George Papachristoudis, who came under the auspices of the Minister of Health Mr. Michalis Hadjipandelas.

On the evening of August 19, at the Cavo Zoe Seaside Hotel, a special setting was set up that perfectly harmonized with the character, style and meaning of the event, which was nothing more than an offer to the children. The director of Cavo Zoe Seaside Hotel Mr. George Motsios was the first to speak, as the host of the evening, welcoming the attendees mentioning the importance of the offer to fellow human beings and especially to children.

“Our support, expression of love to all children”.

Welcoming the audience, the President of the “Nicosiazo” Volunteer Network, Mr. Leonis Orfanidou, stated that: “We decided to move with” Nicosiazo “to Protaras and organized this musical night under the full moon of August. We embraced the effort made for the “Little Heroes” and we are together tonight to give our support, an expression of love to all the children who give their own fight every day. Thus, we become companions in a struggle that values ​​us as human beings and send the message of love and offering as illuminators in these difficult days that no one is and should not be alone.

Then Mrs. Orfanidou invited on stage the director of the Ministry of Health Mrs. Christina Giannaki, who represented the Minister of Health Mr. Michalis Hadjipandelas under whose auspices the evening was held. Ms. Giannaki congratulates the organizers for this initiative and referred to the continued support and reinforcement of children and their families battling childhood cancer.

The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mrs. Annita Dimitriou, with particular sensitivity to the issue of children with cancer, honored the evening with her presence and addressed a short greeting. Ms. Dimitriou stressed the importance of supporting these children and stated that the state will continue to be a helper. Deputies, mayors and local officials of the free province of Famagusta honored the evening with their presence.

The wonderful singer Fotini Darra, with her exceptional voice and her unique performances traveled the audience with music and songs inspired by the moon. The great orchestrator and pianist George Papachristoudis accompanied Fotini Darra on the piano who sang her own well-known and timeless songs, great Greek and foreign hits but moved the audience especially by singing “Chrysoprasino Thylos for”, Leonida Maleni and music by Mikis Theodorakis.
