This is perfect for museum lovers. Thalassa Municipal Museum of Ayia Napa is dedicated to the sea. Is located in a new, spacious and elegant building in the heart of Ayia Napa. The presentation of the exhibits is very beautiful and modern; collections are eclectic representing all domains. The museum’s top stars are the copies of the ship from Kyrenia and a papyrella (old boat made from papyrus 400BC) which is good to walk around. The museum match to all ages, contains archaeological, paleontological and local paints exhibition. Contains also exposition of ancient Greece coins and ceramics. You can also find mini ancient hippos, marvelous shells and a reconstructed boat housed.

The museum is divided into three main sections:

  • The biggest one is the archaeological. It represents the development of craftsmanship and civilization from very early ages. Very extensive exhibition and a lot of information is provided. There is VR section where you can explore three places from the ancient times.
  • The second section is about the wildlife on land and in the sea around Cyprus and how wild life has evolved during the ages.
  • The third section is dedicated to the minerals found on the island.

Worth a visit especially during midday. In this way you avoid the heat of the summer. Entrance fee is only 4 euro for adult. Interesting for children and teens as well.
